Bruno took the Blue Ribbon at his first show, the 2016 Carolina Alpaca Celebration, under Judge Amanda Vandenbosh. His first cria arrived 7/25/18 - a light fawn little girl (Lyra) who has wonderfully fine fleece that almost glows! Much to our surprise, his second cria born 9/25/18 is an extremely nice white male (Telesto)---our surprise that Telesto is white out of two browns. See details on their web pages.
Bruno's a very nice boy in lots of ways -- he's great with people and is especially easy to handle for young people. He's out of Verticase's Vector and one of MMFA's best dams, Raina. He is phenotypically beautiful! His pedigree is also stacked with a who's who of alpaca greats. Bruno has great face and leg coverage, and very few guard hairs -- and the ones he does have are right where they're supposed to be! His fleece has a medium crimp style, a long staple length, and a soft handle.
At the 2017 TXOLAN show, the judge had great things to say about Bruno's fleece and conformation. She stated that his density put him in 3rd place (out of 10).
At the AOA National Show, we had him evaluated by Judge Sara Jane McClellan. He has many great qualities, including uniformity in micron and consistency across his blanket. He has very good brightness and his primary and secondary fibers are very close in micron, which lends to a soft handle. His staple length is very good...She indicated that he is definitely an above-average male and he has so many good qualities that he can easily be retained as a breeding male.
His sire, WP Verticase's Vector's lineage has Snowmass Quechua line on the top and Snowmass Nova line on the bottom. Vector's sire, WP Verticase, was a multi-champion white male known for his lingering fineness and quite in demand as a herdsire in the alpaca world. Excellent conformation and these incredible fleece characteristics have been passed down to many of his award-winning offspring. On the dam's side, Hemingway, NWA LTD Predictor, Sir Peruvian Accoyo Odyssey, and Heather's Acre Accoyo Sirius.
